Safety Certificates Roadworthy Inspections

Howard Motor Repairs in Howard, Fraser Coast Region, is an Approved Inspection Station (AIS)

Howard Motor Repairs can issue Safety Certificates (formerly Roadworthy Certificates RWC) for vehicles that pass vehicle inspections.

In the State of Queensland, a safety certificate is needed when:

  • you are transferring registration to a new owner or
  • you are transferring to Queensland registration from another state or territory or
  • you are re-registering an unregistered vehicle

Vehicles we can inspect and provide a safety certificate for are cars, motorcycles, vans, trailers (including caravans) with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) between 750kg and 4,500kg. Or any other vehicles up to 4,500kg gross vehicle mass (GVM).

This inspection covers the basic vehicle safety standards for many components including:

  • Tyres
  • Brakes
  • Suspension
  • Steering
  • Body damage or Rust
  • Lights
  • Windscreen

Should your vehicle fail the initial inspection then you have 14 days in which to have the items repaired. Fortunately, as we are a fully qualified automotive service and repair workshop we can fix most issues within 14 days before that inspection expires.

A safety certificate inspection is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection on the quality, or life expectancy of a vehicle. Talk to us today about the different types of inspections available at Howard Motor Repairs and which one will best suit your needs.
